Hawaii
“Hawai‘i isn’t just a place—it’s a state of mind. Salt on your skin, sand between your toes, and the hum of the Pacific”
Hawaii
In April 2022, we spent five unforgettable weeks in Hawaii, exploring four of its most iconic islands: Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island. While our visit was part of our ongoing travels, it was also a special occasion, celebrating our ten-year anniversary in one of the most breathtaking destinations on Earth. Each island has its own unique charm, and discovering them all felt like travelling through different worlds within the same paradise.
We began with Oahu, the energetic heart of Hawaii, where we soaked up the rhythm of Waikiki, visited the historic Pearl Harbor, and hiked up Diamond Head for panoramic views. The North Shore, with its legendary surf and the green valleys of Waimea, was equally unforgettable.
On Kauai, the so-called Garden Isle, we found a lush, green wonderland. The Na Pali Coast, with its dramatic cliffs, was one of the most stunning landscapes we have ever seen. We hiked through Waimea Canyon and explored the misty magic of the Weeping Wall.
Maui offered a perfect mix of adventure and calm. We watched the sunset from the summit of Haleakala, drove the legendary Road to Hana, and admired the sacred pools of Oheo Gulch. Golden beaches and a laid-back vibe completed the island’s unique appeal.
Finally, the Big Island welcomed us with fire and wonder. We explored Volcanoes National Park, wandered through tropical Hilo, and relaxed along the beaches of Kailua-Kona. The island’s raw, untamed power left a deep impression.
For many, Hawaii may feel like a distant dream. But if you ever get the chance to go, take your time to discover Hawaii. You will not regret it.

Discover Hawaii, a place where volcanic landscapes, lush jungles, and sun-drenched beaches meet the warm embrace of the Aloha spirit. This tropical paradise is more than just a destination, it is a state of mind, a feeling that lingers long after you leave.
Hawaii is made up of multiple islands, each with its own distinct personality. We explored four of them, each offering something different, something unforgettable.
Oahu is where the energy is highest. In Honolulu, surfers glide past city lights in Waikiki, while history lives on at Pearl Harbor. Hiking Diamond Head gives you sweeping views of the coast and skyline. Further north, the pace slows down. On the North Shore, time stretches out as you take in the waves, the sun, and the laid-back atmosphere. Oahu is lively, diverse, and endlessly entertaining.
Kauai feels like the wild heart of Hawaii. Known as the Garden Isle, it is home to emerald valleys, waterfalls, and cliff-lined coasts. Hiking the Na Pali Coast is an experience you will never forget. The atmosphere is mystical in places like the Weeping Wall, and dramatic in Waimea Canyon. Kauai is where you lose yourself in nature and rediscover simplicity.
Maui balances relaxation with adventure. The sunset over Haleakala is magical, the views from the crater unforgettable. The Road to Hana winds through rainforest, past waterfalls and beaches, until it reaches quiet villages on the other side of the island. Do not stop halfway, complete the journey. Maui’s beaches, small towns, and laid-back rhythm make it one of the most rewarding islands to explore.
The Big Island is unlike anywhere else. This is a land of fire, lava, and constant change. Witness the raw power of Kīlauea, hike across hardened lava fields, and stand at the edge of a volcanic crater. Then head to the other side of the island, where the lush coast near Hilo reveals waterfalls and botanical gardens. Off the Kona coast, we snorkelled with manta rays under the stars. The Big Island is vast, wild, and deeply humbling.
Hawaii is easy to explore, but you need time. Flights between islands are quick, driving is relaxed, and every corner invites you to slow down. English is widely spoken, the US dollar is the currency, and the people are some of the kindest we have met. The climate is tropical and pleasant year-round, with slight variations between islands and elevations.
Whether you are chasing waterfalls, watching lava flow into the sea, or simply sitting on the beach with the breeze in your hair, Hawaii welcomes you with open arms. Explore our blogs for local tips, route suggestions, and stories to help you discover Hawaii and feel the Aloha spirit for yourself.
