“New Zealand: Where Breathtaking Nature Meets Ultimate Relaxation”
New Zealand
In late 2018, we visited New Zealand for the very first time. Reflecting on that trip now, we can confidently say we made a classic beginner’s mistake: trying to Discover New Zealand in just four weeks. We ambitiously set out to explore both the North and South Islands. Starting in Auckland, we drove across the North Island, crossed the Cook Strait, explored the stunning South Island, and looped back to Auckland. Was it doable? Yes, but not something we would recommend today.
It was a whirlwind of long drives and packed schedules, leaving little time to truly absorb the beauty of New Zealand. Still, one thing became crystal clear: this country had captured our hearts. The seed was planted. We knew we would return, this time to Discover New Zealand more slowly and intentionally.
Fast forward to 2023, and that dream became reality. After the pandemic, New Zealand reopened, and we returned not once, but twice. From late January to late April 2023, we embarked on a three-month road trip in a campervan we bought near Auckland. While a cyclone made much of the North Island inaccessible, we took our time exploring the dramatic landscapes of the South Island.
Later, in September 2023, we returned for another three-month journey, this time focused on the North Island, which was finally ready to be explored again. Over three unforgettable trips, we spent a total of seven months traveling across New Zealand: from serene beaches to towering mountains, from vibrant cities to peaceful countryside.

Highlights include the dramatic fjords of Doubtful Sound and Milford Sound, the crystal-clear waters of the Bay of Islands, the geothermal wonders of Rotorua, and the golden beaches of Abel Tasman National Park.
Feeling adventurous? Hike one of New Zealand’s legendary trails, like the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, or go whale watching in Kaikoura. Prefer to take it easy? Visit the world-class wineries in Marlborough or unwind in the natural hot pools of Hanmer Springs.
New Zealand is exceptionally easy to travel. English is the primary language, credit cards are widely accepted, and visitors from many countries can enter visa-free or with a 3-month tourist e-visa. The local currency is the New Zealand dollar. For the best experience, visit during summer (December to February) or enjoy the mild temperatures and vibrant colors of autumn (March to May).
