Singapore
When you are in Southeast Asia, you simply have to discover Singapore during your trip. This city is a melting pot of cultures, flavors, and futuristic skylines. But let’s be honest, it is also a place where your wallet starts sweating the moment you arrive. Luckily, we found a brilliant solution: housesitting as always tot he rescue! Two birds with one stone. Ten days to explore this fascinating city and ten days of free accommodation in a place where hotels can cost you a small fortune.
In October 2022, we were traveling through Malaysia on our three-month journey through Southeast Asia. Singapore was high on our wishlist, but the prices made us stop and think (and panic a little?). A decent hotel room? €150+ per night. A tiny hostel or futuristic sleep pod? Still at least €100 per night. And all that for a space so small you could barely turn around with your backpack.
Then, suddenly, a golden opportunity appeared: a housesit in a great neighborhood in Singapore. A lovely apartment, two cats to look after, and just a few metro stops from the city. Perfect! We were on Penang Island in Malaysia, and a flight to Singapore was cheap and quick to arrange. And just like that, we had ten amazing days in this unique city, without the financial stress.
On this page, we are sharing everything you need to know about Singapore. From all top places to budget tips for exploring this vibrant city without robbing the bank. Use our experiences, pack your bags, and get ready to discover Singapore! Have any questions? Just send us a message!
